Malware is a virus type of software that can enter your system and cause it to malfunction a bit or totally destroy it. It can erase all of your information in a snap and it will be impossible to recover it. Everything on your computer will be gone, pictures, and resumes, taxes, anything and everything. Worst of all it can lead to identity theft because whoever sent it will have access to all your pertinent and personal information.

The majority of the malware out there since 2003 enter a unsuspecting persons computer steal their private data and use that data for credit cards, bank accounts, loans, Etc. Other malware enters your computer and may send out spam emails to tons of people including prohibited sites and porn.

Malware contains several different yet evil programs including worms, spyware, viruses and Trojan horses. No matter which program is used the intent is the same to ruin your computer. As our internet usage grows and high speed access usage grows a malware virus can slowly break down your system causing just a little more damage each day until the damage is so bad there is no hope for fixing it and the scary thing is they can come from anywhere.

What you can do to ensure that your system does not get infected is follow these simple steps:

If you think you are infected stop using the internet for anything personal. Do not shop online or do banking online, etc.

Once you are sure you have the security software installed run a scan on your system. If any problems pop up let the program fix it this will erase any malware bugs you may have accidentally picked up.

When you are positive that your system is clean and protected keep an eye out for weird happenings that may indicate you have again somehow been infected. The best cure for malware is to avoid it all together. The developers of the malware will continue to create vicious programs and we will continue to fight them. They certainly aren't going away but if you are careful and watchful they won't be staying long either. There you go...a quick definition of malware!
